Other Therapeutic Interventions Provided

Grounding is helpful in calming the nervous system and reducing feelings of anxiety. It is also an important aspect for restoring and maintaining energy levels.

Counselling Psychotherapy In Action

The focus of the sessions is based on what you want to achieve. In TA we work as a team and I will have agreed to work with you on your goal for therapy. Generally the sessions would involve you telling me about what is bothering you and me responding with the relevant questions and responses to help you find out the causes at play.

The Safe & Sound Protocol

The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) enables the body to receive cues of safety which means we are able to cope with our problems more effectively. Often generalised anxiety disappears, and other specific triggers become far more manageable, as we are able to regulate our inner state.

Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) was initially only used for PTSD for which it is proven effective. It has also been proven to help people recover from a variety of traumatic events that have been experienced which leads to significant improvement in mental & emotional health.

Interpersonal Neurobiology

Interpersonal Neurobiology encompasses the science of consciousness and neuroscience findings that support the fact that we can actively enable ourselves to respond differently to our problems and become better problem solvers and therefore happier and healthier as a result.

The Application of TA

TA gives us a language to understand & name the internal aspects that influence how we decide ‘who I am’, ‘who others are’ and ‘what someone like me can expect from the world’.

You may have heard of the Flight – Fight – Freeze responses. If you haven’t – they are the survival responses of our autonomic nervous system. Our survival responses run outside of our voluntary control and have an inbuilt bias towards danger. This means that when they have been triggered they will not allow-in any cues of safety that may be present in the environment. To do so would reduce the likelihood of our survival.
